Linggawaty Hakim is a member of the Appeal Commission for Patent Rights of the Republic of Indonesia since 2022. She was a Senior Advisor (Staf Khusus) to the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Prof. Dr. Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly (2021-2024). She also served as a Senior Advisor (Staf Khusus) to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Mr. Luhut Pandjaitan (2018-2020).
She was the Ambassador of Indonesia to Switzerland and Liechtenstein (2014-2017), as well as to Sweden and Latvia (2006-2010). Her foreign assignments as a career diplomat included: Indonesian Embassy in Stockholm; Indonesian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York; and Indonesian Representation to the European Union in Brussels.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she served mostly in the Legal Department. Her latest position in the Ministry was Director General for Legal Affairs and Treaties, where she chaired many meetings and negotiations with other countries on different legal issues, including maritime and land boundaries with neighbouring countries. She also served in the Multilateral Department as the Director for Economic and Development Affairs. During her assignment, she attended many international meetings and conferences as the head of the Indonesian delegation.
She was appointed as the Director of the Non-Aligned Movement Center for South-South Technical Cooperation in 2002-2006 and 2010-2014.
She pursued her law studies at the University of Padjadjaran in Bandung and achieved her Master’s Degree in International Law (LL.M.) at the University of Stockholm, Sweden.
